Trust me, once you own one, you get used to the tailgate. Then when you see ones without it, it looks weird to you.

I also hated it. I painted mine black instead of silver and now love the look of the silver one too.

He can build a truck that is something like a Platinum and then market it as if it was a Platinum and make his money off the up charge. For example, he's already leaving the heated and cooled seats off. I wouldn't have an issue with this if he was building the truck for himself, but he's doing it for the purpose of resale. If I bought what I thought was a Platinum and paid a premium for it, I'd be almighty pizzed when I found out that it wasn't what I was sold. Kinda reminds me of the days when people would roll the odometers back. It would also be a tough sell to the insurance company. Oh, yea they'll insure it as a XLT, but they'll also payout as if it was a XLT.

My thought as well. This seems like a shady thing to do to make a buck.

I may be completely off but if you have decent insurance won't they cover modifications?

My insurance covered my raptor conversion up to 68k. As long as you have receipts, they will cover. Not a lot of people even use heated/cooled seats. My leather guy said he could.do front an back heat/cool for like 300. Saw it as unnecessary.

Car dealerships do this everyday. Put leather in vehicles an sell them as Premium editions... Just on the title or actual sale it states what it is. If u could buy a harley edition or lariat for a few grand cheaper an have almost everything the same, that would be awesome. Some people dont care about little stuff like, heated seats or sumroof...
