Question Z-Max

I was watching TruckU today and they were talking about Z-Maz and it reducing carbon in the engine. Does anyone one use Z-maz in there oil/fuel system? Is it worth the money? Are there any other oil/fuel additives that you guys use?

ZMAX has had countless lawsuits about not being able to back their claims and have paid out several settlements. Look at the MSDS and you'll see there's nothing to ZMAX that makes it special. The only "additives" I use is a PEA based cleaner, either Techron or Gumout Regane, to keep the injectors clean at every other oil change. Some guys like to use 2 stroke oil, MMO, etc for extra lubricity but I'm not sold on that.

MSDS sheets do not have to list proprietary ingredients.. they only list mandated ingredients that are required to aid in cleanup, spills, ingestion etc. Not that I promote Z-Max or any additive but don't use the MSDS as a judge for additives.

If MSDS sheets listed everything you think WD-40 would still be proprietary? How about Dr. Pepper?

I think it would still be proprietary because companies use trade names in MSDS. They don't necessarily put H3Ni2; instead, they put SuperTruck juice.
