Transmission Interchangeability ?
Hello F150 Forum,
New here and I have a question about transmission interchangeability among Ford trucks.
My daughter has a 2002 Expedition 5.4L 4wd with a bad transmission (I am aware it's not an 150, but this is the best place for Ford truck related information). I am looking for a cheap replacement and cannot find a good answer regarding the models and years of vehicles I could get a trans from...this is the best info I have found http://www.autorepairmanuals.biz/page/374067, but it only tells me what other vehicles have the 4R100...not if they physically interchange. I assume they may, but I hate to spend money on an assumption (and my wife hates it even more).
A more specific question is this...Will the transmission from a 2001 F250 4wd physically bolt into a 2002 Expedition 4wd? Is this a valid replacement option? I found a decent lead on Craigslist...trying too keep cost down.
