thermostat?

where is the thermostat i an 89 ford f150?

Inside the water neck where the upper radiator hose meets the engine. Make sure that you pay attention to which direction it goes in the hole before removing the old one and putting a new one in. The spring goes to the bottom.

k i found it but I am having trouble taking it out I can't get a wrench or anything in there with out taking the either the waterpump or the spark plug distributer off what one would be the safer bet I figured the water pump but I want some info before I **** something up ya know or is there a better way at getting to it

I went with the waterpump but the distrubeter got bumped round when I was working on it and it won't fire any one have any advice I tried moving it back in alinement and and start it again but I still got nothing
