Default swapping to 13th Gen Aluminum Knuckles onto a 12th Gen

I have heard from a couple people that swapping a set of aluminum 2015+ steering knuckles will help handling and reduce unsprung weight giving a better front end ride on the 12th Gen 2011-2014 trucks.
Has anyone heard of or has anyone done this swap?

I went down the rabbit hole because my stock height 2013 FX4's front knuckles are starting to rust and flake and when it was in the dealer for some extended warranty work, the suspension tech said that I should replace them because over time and as they continue to rust, they might fail.

A bunch of bull or a legit concern?
