Default rear diff grenade

First off I would like to say hello! I'm new here but I have been hovering this forum for a long time.

I come for a little help and advice

The rear diff in my 1998 single cab short bed 4x4 got a little........crunchy

So I found a buddy who had a 1990 F150 with low miles (85K), blown engine. I crawled underneath and it still had the tag on the diff cover and it had the 3.55 gears I needed! So I cut it out and gave him $50 I have everything ready to go back in and I noticed that the shock mounts are the wrong way lol

my question is do I have to grind these off and find someone to weld new ones on? or do they make a clamp-on shock mount? I don't have a welder so that would make my life a lot easier.

other than that are there any other differences between the 8.8 out of the 1990 vs. my 1998?

Thank You!
Jake

No differences i can think of nut you have to grind and reweld the mounts. I had to do it when I swapped out a rear on a 02 E350.

Thanks! I cant see any noticeable difference, I got old mounts ground off and new mounts ordered so just waiting on parts.
