Default Plugs

Hey everyone Like too know if anyone has used E3 Spark Plugs in there 5.4 if not what do you think is the best one for it. I just bought a 1999 F150 Lariat super cab Flareside and thought I would start out fresh and do all the maintenance in the next few weeks.

Thanks
Scott

Hi & Welcome!

Either stick with Motorcraft, or the top-shelf Denso Iridium IT-16.

Avoid E3's, Autolights, Bosch and Champions for yer engine.

Use new boots and fresh dielectric grease.

Torque to 28 ft-lbs dry if using a nickel-plated plug like the first two.

You can elect to use some nickel anti-sieze on the threads (not necessary but some folks still choose to do so). If you do, adjust torque values as per this guide:

http://www.densoiridium.com/installationguide.php

More info:

Refer to FAQ'a # 51 and 52

good luck
