Default oil

I have a 2001 Super Crew, 105 K, 2 wd, Triton V8. When I start it when the temp is cold the oil pressure gauge goes from normal (sitting 1/2 way between H and L) to zero and the red oil light comes on. Within seconds it goes back to normal. It does this several times, and then as it warms up it stops. There doesn't seem to be any change in the motor when this happens.
I am worried I have a serious oil pump problem, any ideas ?

Thanks,
joe
