Default Ignition Coil issue

Hi,

I recently had 2 spark plugs thrown out of the heads, 3rd one back from the front on both sides. It broke the ignition coil on each and I was unable to get them back together, will the coils not being held down by the retaining bolt cause issues? Also, I read that you could unplug the coil and still drive the vehicle? I only ask because I need to drive the truck to work, roughly 40 miles round trip. I have the parts ordered but won't get them until Friday. If I do this, will I be able to get to work and back, at least for today, I can most likely skip a day or 2 otherwise. Thanks so much!

It's not recommended to drive it with the plug out. You can unplug the injector and run it, but only short distances and not for long. The COP not being held down may cause some slight misfires if it's that way for a long time. I hope you ordered a Time sert as that is the only good fix for the blowouts and have torqued the rest of the plugs to the new 28 ft/lbs.

You can get a kit and instal the inserts in a couple of hours. Probably get a used COP at the junk yard to get by for a few days/weeks.

Ignition coil is a very essential part of vehicles ignition system and, converts the battery power to enough power to create the required power within the spark plug to fire, in some of newer vehicles might take more than one coils till the on board computer determines the ideal or optimum work for any engine.
