high end power and engine mods
I am looking to get some high end power, my truck gets off the line pretty decent but at around 80 mph it doesnt accelerate fast enough for my taste. Basically I am looking for any help somebody can give me and maybe point in the right direction in terms of good companies and parts I can add.
there is no substitute for cubic inches.........transplant one of Ford's new 512 crate engines, with a recommended 4bbl carb, and that should wake up the over 80 velocity........
and i am not a Ford rep., just an older hot rodder that has lived it!!! brick

I have the stock 330 and I really dont want to do an engine swap. I was mainly wondering if I could replace any engine components, I plan on adding a supercharger as soon as I come up with the cash
Yeah for actual top end power, gearing change prob would be the most effective until you are running the supercharger. Just make sure when you do the s/c, to get a kit that has all the supporting mods with it. injectors, bigger fuel pump if needed, ect
What brand s/c you plan on going with and how much PSI you looking to run it at?

How big are the tires on your truck? I ask because your profile states you are wanting to go to 37's I really hope you refrain from hard acceleration above 80 mph with huge tires on an F150.
What kind of power does the truck make now? 265-275hp? And I assume it is a 4wd supercrew so it weighs what 6000lbs or so? So you are over 21 lbs per hp, and if you added larger than stock tires but kept the original gears you made it worse yet. We are also talking about a vehicle with a huge frontal area.
The fact is, there is nothing you can do to make this pig accelerate hard at 80mph. The supercharger might help but to get any kind of serious acceleration you need to be close to 10 lbs/hp.
There are so many things wrong with the question, it is very difficult to give a straight answer, sorry.
The best thing you could do if you want to accelerate at 80 mph and up is sell the truck, buy a car. For under $15k you could have an 99-02 MB E55, still have four doors and have under 11lbs/hp. Problem solved.

With the modifications I plan on making in the future I understand its not realistic with a lift and bigger tires. I am going to re-gear once I get the lift and it is 2wd. Let me pose the question a different way "what can you do to an engine to get more horsepower out of it?" I pretty much have the intake and exhaust done. I am looking for actual engine components.
if you want to raise power without spending a mess load of money on an engine swap look into an remote mounted sts turbo system, cheaper than a supercharger and can actually help with gas milage (when ur not in high boost) they sound awesome and dispite the crap you will here from other people the remote mounted turbos produce more horsepower per pound of boost bc the turbo is around 500 degrees cooler being remote mounted usually where ur muffler is at. check em out here
