Help!!
Hi, I'm Matt, and I need some input from the pros.
Today my 2005 f150 was making a whining sound coming from the rear end, but later stopped. Then while pulling out of a parking lot I heard a loud pop from the rear end, and my truck would no longer accelerate, my initial thought was transmission, but I engaged 4 high and was able to drive with the front. The drive shafts turns in gear but doesn't engage the rear differential. I do most of my own wrenching, as I am a poor boy and nobody loves me. But I still need help diagnosing the problem.
Is this something I can fix, if not how much will it cost to have fixed, any thoughts on what it might be?!?
Thanks for any input,
Matt
