My engine light has come on, this is my first F150 ( 2004 F150 4x4 Lariat Extra cab regular box 5.4) Right now I also have one dead fog light and 1 dead head light. Would the light come on for one those reasons? I just changed my oil, tranny fluid and filter and the light didnt go off. These engines are like space ships too me lol since i previously owned a 1986 Toyota 4x4 22R 4 cylinder that I could pull apart with my eyes closed and put back together. So I figure I should change those two bulbs and if that doesn't work i'm going into the shop to have a mechanic fix it because i ain't touching that thing.

 

Shouldnt have anything to with the lights. Go to Autozone and have them run the code.

 

As stated have auto zone scan and post results here. Change out the bulbs, if a 12 volts circuit is available might test for voltage before just spending money. Guarenteed, I'd be just as lost working on what ever that thing was.

 

Engine light solved. I changed all 4 bulbs. both head lights and both fog lights. Probably the dead headlight caused my engine light to come on.

 

Yea, must have been the B.S. [bulb sensor] .
