Key off measure voltage at battery.
Is it 12 v or greater? Yes go ahead with the tests if not charge or change the battery.
DTC p1451 indicates that Self test has detected canister vent (CV) solenoid failure
Possible causes
CV Circuit open
CV Circuit shorted to power or ground
Dameged CV Solenoid
Damaged PCM
KEy off Disconnect CV solenoid
Key on Engine Off
Check for power at CV solonoid harness connector is it greaterh than 10.5 v?
If not repair the broken wire or circuit.
if yes then measure resistance across the CV Solenoid. is the resistance between 48 and 65 ohms.
IF no replace Solenoid if yes check for open circuit between CV solenoid and PCM.
After that you will need a breakout box.
If I am not mistaken the solonoid is located on the left side on the firewall.
The actual canister is at the rear of the truck, near the tank.
Good Luck.

ok, i have the part, (evap canister solenoid), now i just need to figure out how to change it, i have a haynes manual so ill try this weekend. does anyone know if it will be filled with fuel or is it supposed to be empty.
in my gallery, the part with the green and white lines coming out of it near the intake, not the brake system, vibrates and makes a noise about 30 seconds after i shut off the truck, does that need replaced, if so what is it called.
