Default Carburetor?

I need a new or rebuilt one for my 4.9.
I now have the original stock s/b.
Two things?
Should I change out to a different carb? Or stay with the s/b?
Ive been looking and I cant believe they are charging almost 400 bucks for a s/b carb. Anyone know of a company with better prices ?
Thanks

Searched for a carb for the 1986 model year - looks like one could be had from $114 to $250 plus shipping, etc.

Unless you have other goals in mind, suggest sticking with what the OEM stuck on it.
