Default 5th gear

ok I have a 98 4x4 with a manual trans 3.55 gears and a 4.6. my trans is poping out of 5th gear. My question is would it be worth rebuilding just to have overdrive or should I drive it as a 4 speed and save the money and trouble. How much of a milled difference would it make? also I don't have a tach its an xl model. please let me know what you think please.

looks like the 4th gear is a 1.00 ratio and the 5th gear is a .78 ratio for that year of truck. You will be getting crappier MPG's on the highway, but it's doable. Not sure how much it would cost to rebuild it yourself.
