Default 460 question.

I have an 87 f250 460. I wanna start building up the engine and would like to know if its possible to switch out the stock restrictve heads with the older better performing d0ve heads? Would there be a nice hp/compression gain? Does anyone know if its a straight swap or woul i need to swap out/modify anything else. thanks for any replies

Straight up swap. But you have to see if there are any emission tubes on the 87 heads, but if your not worried dont worry about it. If you want a little more power, look for the thinnest head gasket, the thinner the gasket the more compression.
