Default 2008 Cam Phaser question

Hey everyone, I purchased a used 2008 XLT SuperCab with the 5.4L a week ago and have been browsing different forums since. I've seen a lot of guys with cam phaser issues on the 5.4L but most seem to be from earlier trucks. I'm wondering if ford fixed the issue on the 08s or if it is something I need to keep an ear out for. I bought the extended warranty, not the bumper to bumper but next one down and the truck has 34k on it so I still have the 6yr/60k mile power train warranty.

I just can't really find any info as to when or if ford fixed the issue at the factory.

Can you help a newb out?

Thanks

I have the same issue right now.. started just at 60K and at first thought it was a dirty MAF.. so I cleaned it using CRC MAF cleaner with no change... started reading about all the others that have had this same issue. But Im hearing that even after changing out the cam phasers that its a hit or miss..... Is this really gonna fix my idle issue or not ? should I worry about it or just get used to this BS ?

They fixed mine last summer. I have put maybe 7k on it since and the noise is slowly coming back. Guess I am doomed to deal with it. It is very faint right now.

My 03 had 486,000 kms on it all I ever did was change the oil every 5000k and about 5 sets of tires and brakes.. regular maintance is key.
