was wondering what would cause this to happen to a spark plug. the codes i have got are system is to lean and misfire on 6th cylinder. Could a bad injector or maybe even a coil pack be the problem? what do you guys think? Thanks

What kind of plugs are those?? It looks like you're either running really lean or you've got some serious detonation problems!
Steel should not look like that
Replace the injector I'd say

 

i had the same code on my 04 4.6. i replaced the fuel pump, filter, plugs, coils(which from ford is a weak spot get the msd ones, an set of 8 are cheaper then a set of 8 from ford) turned out i had a dead cylinder. my suggestion, get a compression test before spending any money I'm going down the same road your on right now

 

also i just looked at your pic my spark plug looked just as bad, i hope you can do a compression test and your motor passes but save your self the money and headache and get the test first

 

Yup that cylinder is junk. Pistons got a hole in it. Exhaust valves are no more. It's Baby's in the Shop again Honey. Alcohol gets really hot.
