On a couple of occasions in the past 2 months, while using cruise control and not towing, my 2009 truck (see my signature for specs) has begun to accelerate beyond the speed it was set to maintain. I can't get it to repeat so I can determine the exact conditions under which its happening but I think on both occasions I was going uphill.

Has anyone else experienced this?

 

My 04 surged the other day with the cruise on. I set it on 70 on the way home and it never did it again. Not sure what it is.

 

i may have, but i dont think it went but 1-2MPH over the cruise speed. as i recall, it was uphill where the engine downshifted.
