Default Tossed a sparkplug

First, I bought this truck used from a friend and he did do regular maintance on it and it runs well. At 240,000 miles, the engine is getting tired.

The other day while driving down the highway, it blew a sparkplug out of the engine.

I'm debating, should I fix the sparkplug hole and just drive it or do I yank that engine and put in a fresh one.

Opinions?

If it came down to putting a new engine in her, it would be way cheaper just to rebuild it. Depending on how worn the motor is, I would try to fix it, if theres just to much to fix, might as well rebuild it.

Won't cost too much to do a Timesert and get it back out there. If it has had the right maintenance, it should have many miles before giving out.

Or you could buy a used motor from a salvage yard or something with low miles. Shouldn't be hard to find, and inexpensive to.

The insert/repair cost me $550 plus the $75 tow when my 2003 250 5.4 blew the #8 plug a couple months ago at 108,000.

I got a 2009 150 5.4 and 45,000 last month. And a bumper to bumper extended warranty.
