I've built a 2001 5.4. Just as I installed the last piston and was turning the # 1 up to tdc, I noticed the piston seemed way down in the hole,, .140 thousands. A lot of searching gave me a spec of .120. Even that seemed too much. Is it possible i've gotten a 4.6 piston. I've built a lot of engines in the past but this is my first 5.4. All the local machine shops and garages seemed to know nothing about this eng., they just buy reman units. Due to needing the truck, i've finished building the eng. It does run good but does not have the power I was expecting. I did add shorty headers and a competition cams. Anyone been here before with this problem.??
