Default Need some help please

Hey guys so I just got a 05 fx4 and just got a chance to lay under it and get a good look. Well I noticed a lot of oil over the oil pan all the wiring and crossbar. More than I think is normal. Also on the transmission the black plastic peace on the bottom of the trans. It is very loose. I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to be or not. Let me know wht y'all think

IMHO any oil is to much. Gunk it and pressure wash, see where it is coming from.

If i'm not mistaken you should tighten that up if ya can it should be the cover for the torque converter bolts for removal of the transmission, its a good idea to keep dirt and crud out of there i suppose thats the reason they put that there, i've seen those on the taurus' i just swapped a transmission on one this past week.

That plastic piece ts just a cover to prevent dert and road debris from getting into the bell houseing it will fit loosley with age it does not seal any thing and is not crittical. as for the oil leak as stated before clean it off and find the source it well could be be runing down from higher up like valve cover or intake manifold or even a pressure senser.
