I have an 01 5.4 and I've been hearing a ticking noise coming from the drivers side. I've had spark plug issues in the past, I've blown 3. Once I replace the spark plug it goes for about a month or two and I hear the same ticking noise that gets louder and louder until eventually a spark plug blows out.
I don't know if I could have stripped the treads in the head or if I have another problem that keeps causing this. My check engine light has been on for about 3 weeks and I think I may have a clogged catalytic converter, could that have anything to do with the ticking under the hood?
