So my 03 f150 5.4 2v (198k miles) has a noise. On cold starts and hot starts sometimes. It goes away after alittle bit. Can’t find any broken exhaust manifold bolts. So I’m thinking it’s time for a timing job. Looking for insight. Do you think I’m correct that it needs timing chains and such? If so what brand would you recommend? Motorcraft? Melling? Especially tensioners. Pretty sure it has the plastic chain tensioners in it. Are the cast ratcheting ones better?? I’ve heard they can max out the chains and stretch them faster https://share.icloud.com/photos/063XqBSQ6jSzm8uVmRx-GxFqg Hot start^
