Cam Shaft Position Sensor
Okay, have a 2010 5.4L. So far, it has thrown these 2 codes:
P0340 = Powertrain Camshaft position sensor "A" circuit (Bank 1 or single sensor)
P0344 = Powertrain camshaft position sensor "A" circuit intermittent (Bank 1 or single sensor)
P0340 was also thrown back in August. It went away on its own until last Saturday when both codes showed up. Had the garage take a look at it but, the check engine light was off the next morning even though it was on when I dropped it off the night before. It sat in the garage until I drove it to garage Monday night so it didn't have a lot of start and stop cycles on it. All their diagnostics said nothing was wrong. They swapped the sensors around to see if the codes change sides the next time it happens.
If it is the sensor, is this one of those times that I should use OEM or can I use another brand? If I can use another brand, is there a brand I should avoid? A brand that you recommend?
