Another cam phaser post! Advice?
I am scared to death the cam phasers are going to go bad in mine. I just spent two hours reading various threads.. I just bought an 06 XLT 5.4 and have had the dealer replace 4 plugs and coils so far. I noticed a very slight tick the other day when i was in a bay at the car wash, so i thought i'd look on here. This scares the crap out of me. I have 30 days to find everything wrong and get it fixed on the dealers dime and then i'm on my own. What are the optimal conditions of this? Im in Missouri where it's maybe 35 degrees on average. I could only hear my tick in gear. When I was in Park or neutral it stopped.. Is this the timing chain with too much slack or a phaser going out?
