Default Its your truck!!!

Hopefully no one goes "off" on service manager for an oil change! The vehicle is your own, u bought it and you can change the oil when u feel it necessary. Choices are free to make.

Personally, I would change oil, new engine or old, @ 6-7k (kms)

Me to. My new f150 got its first oil change at 912 kms or approximately 550 miles. Then oil change number 2 at 5783 kms. I will continue now to change it about every 6k to 7k kms, which is i think about 4k to 4.5k mile, or around that.
I use motorcraft fifters from the dealer....had them throw in 20 as part of the deal when i bought it. And use mobil 1 synthetic 5w30. Same exact oil i use in my car, my old truck i restored, my gf's suv, the lawn mower, generators, boat, and more. The motorcycles all get shell rotella 5w40 synthetic made for diesel engines, but percect for the bikes, and the equipment around here.....minus the 2 stroke engines of course.

Default Oil changes ....frequency

MTUFLYER28 is probably still eavesdropping on this thread after all this time.......
He hasn't said what part of the world he is in....but here goes........

1 k then.....but by now hes at about 2 o4 3 k....

so IF he will be keeping the truck beyond the warantee period:
change oil now........5-20 full synthetic Red Line blue label or Mobil 1 and use Motorcraft filter F500S.
Then every 4 months or 5000 miles if towing.
Not towing 6 mos /7000 mi under garden variety driving.
IF....

He has a lease or planning to keep the truck not more than the warantee
period add about 20% more time/milage and use blend oil (partial synthetic).

Ford, just like all manufacturers, just want to get you over the warantee period.....and the salespersons can say 1o k on oil changes.
