Default 5.0L Coyote Variant

After looking through many pages on google and Ford I am still unsure as to this question.

Are all the 5.0L's a Coyote engine variant or is it a modification?

I have seen many people with the Boss intake on their trucks. Is this what makes it a full Coyote instead of a variant? Just looking for some information. And here's about the best website that has told me about the different variations of the motor so far.

from what i have gotten its the same but it does have beefier lower end. there may be more to it but i guess thats the simple answer. i may be wrong but that just seems to be what i got from searching the internet. the boss intake doesnt make the motor a coyote, just adds some power.

That's about what I gathered. The regular Coyote motor is in the Mustang, they just altered some things like the exhaust manifold and intake for the F150 for durability. I imagine the internals are the same, just different set up for the timing on injectors and whatnot.

This article will give you all the details of the difference between the mustang and f-150 5.0.
Mustang has different exhaust manifold, higher compression, different cams, and different intake manifold.

The only problem I see between my question and that article is the article focuses on the birth of the mustang coyote engine and does not specifically state what the differences are between the two. That being said, that was done awesome information on the birth of the newest gen of 5.0 motors. Thanks

I thought they also mentioned the differences between the two motors in the article. It's possible that I read a different article that stated the differences though.

I read the whole thing. It mentioned the F150 variant briefly. This article was about the design and build of the new 5.0L that was specifically designed to fit in the mustangs. That's why I'm under the impression it's the same motor with slightly different set up as I mentioned before. Don't know if there is more information online. I will keep digging. That was a very interesting article though. Only 2 years from idea to production. Very nice.

I finally found this after looking through a couple pages of Google search pages. lol. @nicwiens looks like you correct. It was different intake cams apparently for the low end torque. Thanks.
Lynn Can you make this a sticky in the 5.0L section? Thanks.

Default New engines

In the mustang lineup we get a 2.3L Turbo, the 3.7 N/A V6 which may have its power reduced, the 5.0L, the 5.8L in the GT500 and ........A TWIN TURBO 5.0!!!!! I am curious to see if any of this technology will carry over to the trucks. Could you imagine the Tremor with a twin turbo 5.0!!!!! The ECO tremor is going to be a force to be reckoned with no doubt dropping jaws like flies from a bug zapper, a tuned twin turbo 5.0 will be and F5 tornado!
