4.6l 4x4 engine install issue
So I'm in the process of swapping out my neighbors motor on his 2001 4x4 after the original motor leaned out(one cylidner looks spotless, as do the intske port and valves) and heat broke off the eletrode on the sparkplug I'm assuming(bits of it everywhere in cylinder and it chewed up the plug itself). Anyhow I got the old one out and new one is in but not fully dropped in yet. I currently have it just about lined up, torque converter studs aligned to fly wheel, mounts are good just need to be dropped into them, and I got the passenger side dowel lined up running one of the bellhousing bolts through it. Problem is the driver side one is off by about a half an inch. From underneath I can tell the trans in twisted slightly(the jack holding it up is slightly to the passenger side), I could probably get a second jack to line that side up, but will have no clearance to bolt anything down at that point. Any suggestions? Do I have to just pull the bolt out, drop the jack realign it and try it again(I would like to avoid that, it was a pain getting it lined up to this point). Will loosening the trans mount nuts any do me good?
