Have had my '01 F150 w 4.2 since March. The truck only had 60,000 miles on it when I got it and it has really been taken care of. The one issue I have is a tinny, buzz/rattle at low rpm or idle at stops or parking lot speeds. I believe the source was the engine hoist hook- points bolted to the exhaust manifolds. I removed them hoping this will eliminate the noise. Anybody had this happen to their V6s?

 

pretty sure i had the same problem, turned out to be a heat shield. took me awhile to locate it cuz the heat shields i was checking were'nt loose. finally had it up on a rack and located one, cant remember, but might have been above a convertor...
