4.2 IAC and TPS issues
maybe the gypo tps is behind the trany acting up. like the tps not getting to the correct voltage to tell ecm that its at wide open throttle... therefore no kickdown? i may be backwards but the tranny has been fine untill recently im thnking provoked by iac and tps issues. a motorcraft tps is on order and will be picked up and installed on friday.
well the motorcraft part 9B989 seems to be the ticket so far. no codes printed yet. fingers crossed. . . transmission back in order kicks down when its called upon and no chang in rpm without my input at the throttle pedal.
THANKS AGAIN GOOD OLE BILL for your insight on iac, and motorcraft parts. i guess the NAPA version is inferior. ( i chose the napa version previously because the part was in stock, and i couldnt make it to the dealership from work before the dealership closed.) but i sent old lady on a parts run, and seems to have paid off.

I use Ford parts for all electrical stuff, to many Horror stories with aftermarket. I admit, I use NAPA as my second choice. Glad you are good to go, lets hope it stays that way. Absolutely nothing better than a good running truck. Good luck, Bill
Glad to hear all is still good. I use 17 as my number when going to the pump to estimate my money spent. Will be taking a 600 mile trip this week end, will calculate further. It will be a sad day when I have to get rid of this truck, it will turn 220,000 this trip. Good luck, Bill.
