Default 5star question

ok guys be kind........i understand its probably already on the site somewhere but i cannot find the answer i need so here goes.......................................
if i put a 5star 87 performance tune on my truck what can i expect in the way of added power and also what if any effect will it have on emissions? no worries about passing state inspection?....i plan on pulling the trigger on this soon.....anyone have this on their 3.7 also once downloaded does it get put away or do you drive around with it connected to the truck?

Hi & Welcome!

You will notice a bit more power/torque, but you will definitely notice the vast improvement in yer trans behaviour, and yer ETC throttle delay will be gone.

5Star's site has many dyno graphs documenting their gains - I didn't look to see if a 3.7L is there, but a quickie looksee and/or a phone call will fix that.

EDIT: Found it, lots of info: http://www.5startuning.com/got-a-2011up-f150-3-7l-2/

Most gains come with the high octane calibrations.

You remove the device from the truck after flashing, unless it's an X4 or a Livewire ( or iTSX) - those have gauge functions if you choose to use them.

No emissions inspection issues by leaving the tuning in.

good luck!

I have the expensive Livewire+ model with the E85 custom 94 octane tune (Performance/Tow) and it surprised me. I have to say I love it. It cost over $600 , but for me it was worth it. The motor does not feel anemic anymore. It's hard to tell the top range power, because the 3.7 revs so high. The lower and mid range power is noticeable. I have to include that I already had the 73mm BBK throttle body, K&N cold air intake, and a true dual exhaust system. These prior mods made only small differences, but the tune seemed to bring it all together and boom it's like a small V-8 at the low end and revs like a rice burner if need be. I also have 20" rims with 305/50 tires which are equal to 32.5" I think. With the tuner you are able to recalibrate the speedo which is good. Now I can see how fast I am going.
