Default Type of oil

Yes this is the first f150 ecoboost iv ever owned it's a 2012 f150 ecoboost 4x4 3.5 v6 and I'm not sure what oil to use is. Traditional synthetic full synthetic brands and recommendations? If it says in owners manual I guess I'm blind because I can not find it.

I get the slippery one that they pour in at the shop.

Sorry, I'm the 1st one to take this off topic, but it's not argumentative (for the record). LOL

I get it, your first post but you are by far the first person to bring up a 4-letter word. Yep, it's only 3, but will be treated like 4. haha
Good luck. Go pop your popcorn and enjoy....

Nah, it's a great place.

Oil threads and MPG thread just turn into arguments because everybody is right but no two people agree. haha not that bad, but you know. It's like asking what your favorite food it and somebody else says your dumb for liking that food.

I am shocked this thread has been up for 2 days and 100 people have not responded..."oh my gosh, not another oil thread!". lol. Just use the search function and you will probably have enough to read for the next year or so.

It's right in the manual, on page 425. https://owner.ford.com/tools/account...rd&model=F-150

I would suggest 5w-30 API SN or, preferably, API SP rated full synthetic oil (6+ qts), changed every 5000-7000 miles
Motorcraft FL-500S, or equal quality, filter
