Electronic Locking Diff Stuck on in Cold Weather
Hello all. To start off, I have a 2013 3.5L EB SCREW, 4x4 with Offroad package. Over the 4+ years I've had it, I have had no issues other than the timing chain rattle VERY sporadically. I noticed at the end of the cold season earlier this year, and so far the two cold days we've had this week, my electronic differential light is on when I start the truck in the morning, without the switch being pulled on. After sitting all day at work yesterday, it came on again when I started the truck. It's not just the light though, the lock is actually engaged, again, without the switch being pulled out.
The last time I encountered this issue, I would just pull the ****, wait a few seconds, then push it back in, and it would go off, and I could drive off with no issues. So far the three times this week it's come on, it will not open up until I am going down the road. Why this is an issue is because the front wheels do not want to hardly spin and turning is near impossible, like it's in a crawling low 4, since it's all on concrete or asphalt. BTW, this only seems to happen when the temp is below 45ish degrees.
I have tried searching this forum, google, and a few other spots, and can't seem to find the same issue, unless I'm not searching the right keywords. Has anyone ever encountered this issue themselves? or known anyone who has? At work it's a real pain because I park in a parking garage. Yesterday I literally skidded the front wheels around the turns at 3mph until it finally opened up by the time I got out of the garage and going over 20mph. Cycling the switch doesn't seem to be doing anything this time.
Any help or feedback is much appreciated!! Thanks!
OH, and please move to correct section if I went in too far.
