Default Awesome Pick-Up !!

My son bought his FX4 Ecoboost new in Aug of 2011. 4 years later he has 19k miles on it. Never any issues and it runs great, gets excellent mileage. Plenty of power.

Overall I am happy with my truck, but I if I were to do it over again I definitely would go with the V8. I bought a new SCREW back in 2011 with the Eco Boost. I have 75,000 miles on it currently. Gas mileage has never been what I expected. It gets no better mileage than any V-8 truck I have driven. I do like the rolling power of the turbos, especially pulling a trailer, but off the line is waaaaay too much delay. My brother's 2010 Tundra throws your head back off the line.

My coils all went out on it at about 60,000 miles, which wasn't a cheap fix, but the main issue I have had was the humidity/moisture issue with the turbo (which may have caused the coils issue). Sucks water into the engine and loses all power, not to mention can screw things up. Nearly got killed on the highway the first time it happened to me. The only fix is to put something resembling a styrofoam sticker over the turbo intake, which would cause a loss of efficiency under normal or hot conditions.

Bottom line I am happy with the truck, but wish I would have gotten the V-8 even if it were the same price. The fact that I paid more for a motor that is less desirable just fuels my dislike a bit. I bought it with the intention of keeping it for 10+ years, and with the V-8 I would have. Considering selling in the next couple of years as it is though.

Default Live my ecoboost

My 2013 is my second one. Traded my 2012 ecoboost in. I needed to change the cab configuration and add a feq features. The 2012 had the 3.55 and did have the shudder problem. Ford fixed it and it never did it again. The 2013 has 15k on it and no problems. Took a recent trip to VA. On the backroads at soower steady speeds I was pushing 25-26 mpg. On the highway at 70+ I was still getting around 22 mpg. Is hard not to push the engine. She will pull hard right up to 100 when the limiter kicks in. Love the truck, although I am curious about the 2015 aluminum body ride and performance.

Love the engine, best motor I have ever had in a truck. Perfefect balance of usable torque and hp. I have had the 6-liter Gm engine and 2013 hemi and neither were as balanced as his motor is for truck and real world use. The numbers are not as showy as the 2-V8s but the proof is in the pudding

I have a Lariat 2015 with the 2.7 liter i just wish i was getting a little more mpg
I average 12 liter per 100k on the highway,or near 20 mpg. the Ram ecodiesel does over 30, shure its not a diesel. But they say its the best gasser for fuel economy.

Default EcoBoost

I love my 2012. It does great towing my Bayliner 175. No problem. I don't get the mileage they say I should get, but who does? I would buy another.

Default Minor Problems

2012 sc Lariat 4x4. 105198 Miles. Truck is used in oil field work has had some sensor issues with throttle and intake. Probably due to the conditions it runs in,Temps range from 40 below to 95 above,. Spends about 80% of time on gravel roads dust or mud
Has plenty of power but only gets mid 15's on mileage not what we expected, but I would buy again!

Not sure where you got that information, but that is definitely not what Ford offers to do. It is tape/sticker. I just spoke with Ford directly about this last week.

2014 model with 12,000 miles bought in 11/14.
Tows great; disappointed in MPG vs expectations.
Have never averaged greater than 19 MPG at any speed - HWY or not. usually below 18 on a tank. 70 MPH trips dip down into the 16 - 17s.
