Default Steering issue

I have a "new to me" 1994 150 with 4wd, stick and 4.9 engine with 210,000 mi. I'm the 3rd owner and it hasn't been used hard. I've had the front end rebuilt, new steering box, shocks, tires, wheel bearings, and alignment and it is still loose enough to be a pain to drive over 50 mph for any distance. I noticed it doesn't have a sway bar so I investigated that, evidently that was optional with a towing package??? Inspecting the front end I don't see where it could even be attached. Has anyone had this problem? Is it possible to mount a sway bar without going to extremes? I'm not a mechanic so please dumb down tech stuff, Thanks.

A sway bar isn't going to make up for looseness. Did you inspect the rag joint at the steering gearbox? They do not come with a new gearbox.

Is there an intermediate steering shaft on this model with u-joints on it? Check that as well. Worn u-joints.

Thanks, I questioned the sway bar idea as it controls body sway and not steering.
