Default Won't start

Alright y'all, new to the forum and have a bit of a problem. Truck won't start like normal, just a bunch of quick "clicking" sounds. I've got a 1993 4.9L manual. If you lean on the passenger side quarter panel when you try to start it feels like the clicking is from the fender mounted solenoid. Radio turns on, lights turn on, all that stuff but no start. Tried jumping it and still nothing. Both the fender mounted solenoid and starter are less than a week old and she still won't start. Not a brand new new battery (dated 2-11) and I've heard that may be it but not sure, that's tomorrow's project. Anyone have any ideas? I need her on the road ASAP as she's my daily driver. Thanks y'all.

Check connections throughout the starter circuit and make sure the area the starter bolts onto is clean as a whistle. Thats where it grounds.

I've had that problem before, had someone turn the key while I was under hitting the starter with a blunt object, finally turned over and I replaced the starter next day. Being that your starter is new you probably don't want to mark it up. Take starter and battery in to have them tested before you spend any money. Do you have a multimeter? If so Check voltage and ground at the starter before you take it apart.

Sounds like a bad ground or bad solenoid or possibly even a bad starter. Like the previous post said test with a meter and clean the connections. Also double check your wiring

Never hit a new starter. The old stock ones were strong enough that an impact would release a stuck bendix without doing any damage. Replacement starters arent that strong. Some even contain ceramic parts that are very fragile. Better off spraying wd40 into it until the rust starts to run out.

from personal experience......either it's a dead battery or loose cable wire,my guess.tighten that cable wire on the terminals.battery needs to be at LEAST 12 volts or more.
