Default wiper control problem

My wipers work just fine when they are on the fastest position, but if i attempt to use the delay, they only work sometimes and i hear alot of clicking behind the glove box...Also the entire end of the gear selector lever(where the overdrive button is located)works itself off and i have to push it back on...Has anyone else had this problem? and if so, any suggestions to how to repair it?

How timely. My '92 also clicks in intermittent mode, but still works. Am I about to lose something?

Sounds like two concerns. First the wipers, the interval module is messing up, if the wipers work on high, I would think the motor is OK. Second is the OD switch. Look and see if the tabs securing it into the lever are worn. Probably the switch is bad and just needs to be replaced. Good luck.
