window motor

Default window motor

like i dont have enough projects my window motor on the passengers side started actin funny it will roll down but it wont go up unless you press the button to roll it up and pull up on the window with your hand at the same time is this fixable or will i need a whole new window motor. help me out this is my first experience with a window motor

You can try something simple like putting some white lithium greese on the moving parts, cleaning the tracks, or just checking to see if something is stopping it. But the motor sounds bad.
If you do have to replace the motor it is really simple. Remove the door panel, remove the speaker to make it easier to get to. Best thing to use is a Haynes manual as a reference. Try a local junk yard for a used motor.

DUDE! Same thing happened here! I removed the motor and took it apart. inside there was a bunch of crumbled up plastic. Parts stores carry a "kit" that you can fix it with. It has 3 small cylindrical plastic things that go in there.

Also check the magnets in the motor. They come loose and bind the armature. Happened to every truck I had. I saw where the magnets were using the old epoxy lines, got 5 min epoxy and epoxied the magnets back in place. Greased up the gears and works good as new.
