Default Will this transmission work?

Ok I need help really quick (i.e. TODAY!!) I bought a transmission about 3 weeks ago and the guy said it would definitely fit my 94 F150! Ok we found out yesterday in the middle of doing the job that it was a different transmission! The transmission that is in my truck now is the E40D with I believe the 20 bolt pan! The new transmission is the 4R70W with the 14 bolt pan! After measuring the new transmission is roughly 8 inches shorter than the one in there now! Does anyone know what mods I will have to do to make it fit? Please let me know asap! Thans!

You will have to change the drive line, wiring harness, transmission controller. at the minimum. You may have to change the cross member mount to match your new transmission. Another check is to see if it is a four by transmission, in other words does it have the transfer adapter on it or does it have the output flange or tail housing. The output flange should match up with the drive line and the tail housing should have the proper splines and seal to keep from leaking when the drive line is installed.
