I'm so glad to see it's not just me with this problem. You're most likely going to need to file the little tab that holds it in the distributor so it will seat properly. I tried BWD, and 2 motorcraft rotor buttons in mine. Eye balling it, they look the same, but any new one won't sit down in there and just breaks when I go to start the truck. But the current one always works.

So just try taking a file to one. I'll be doing it soon because I feel bad running new plugs/cap/wires and the old *** rotor

maybe I was being retarded and didn't seat it right? but would a broke rotor be the only cause of my problems?

check inside that accel cap and look at the brass ends very very close and look for any type of knick or scratches on them. also look on the rotor the side with the brass contact and look for any knicks or scratches

would the knicks mean that I didn't seat it right? And once I get the new rotor tomorrow should I throw in my new gapped plugs before or after I try and start it?
