I have a 94 that came with a 5.0/AODE that I just did a 5.8 swap in. The trans was always very sluggish to say the least but I aways thought it was due to the weak and wore out 5.0 I had. Well since I put my 5.8 in the power is amazing and the trans shifts much harder under hard throttle but in normal driving conditions its still not right.

Right now the trans seems to want to up shift very early which kills acceleration and is very hessitant to downshift with anything other than putting my foot through the floor mat.

I installed a Trans-Go kit last year but honestly it didnt change anything.

 

Is it a difference in the transmission throttle cable between the 5.0 and 5.8?

 

AODE doesnt have one. Its all electronic. It even has a new EPC as well.

 

5.8 had the E4OD for a reason...

 

It was the same with the 5.0 in it.
