I'm working on some pre-vis for what I intend to do with my 87. Its 2WD so not really worth lifting, but it has the 5.8l V8, so it has some power.

I want to drop it 4" in the front and 6" in the back and put 18x9s with low-profile tires in the front and 19x15s with drag tires in the back.

Paint it satin black and tint the windows etc. I don't really care about go, the 5.8l V8 is enough for me, if I end up with some cash after all that is done, then I'll do some work on the engine, maybe new intake, headers, exhaust, basic +hp stuff and call it a day.

I can't wait

My 89 is slammed out, don't use dream beams they bend, I used chassis tech, 3" beams and 2" coils, and it tucks a 245/50/16 tire. I flipped the rear and notched the frame so I can still haul anything it did when it was sittin up in the nose bleed section. **** looooks gooooooood! AND it has sway bars front and rear, being so wide and long, this thing handles at speed very well bangin the corners...... and i already had a rockcrawler, SAS'd explorer on 35's, **** was fun but driving it on the street every day sucked, that's where the lowrider came in.....

Wow what a thread, starting out about lowered trucks to arguing about lowered versus lifted and then insulting southerns to insulting compensating men who are 5'8" driving big trucks and then to little trucks whoses owners can't get it up and then shooting mexicans at the border to finally getting back on topic. Well my .02$ is I like them both lifted or lowered depending on if its 4x4 or 2x4 or 3/4ton to 1ton especially this 92-96 f150-350. And it's not cause I'm niether compensating nor can't get it it, oh btw I'm 5'9" and from TN. But my all I wanna know is my 94 150 is just a plain jane xl 300 i6 (best engine option for these trucks anyways)5spd single cab short bed performance white and I wanna level the back without loosing my payload or towing abilities. I like the look and I also want the functionality of a pickup not either or. I use it frequently and misty just haul wood or engines/tranny and parts and now and then haul things from 4wheeler to boat, and I wanna look good doing it. So are drop shackles the way to go, or should I also add the leaf spring strengthener part I saw in lmc which helps with wait? And my other question is, how much lower is a lighting that year in the front?

2 inch shackles would put you at level which is what i did and ive never noticed any loss in payload it just squats a little bit more under a load

if you're reffering to djm i beams, they DO NOT bend. And if they do lifetime warranty. The DJM's are even a lot stronger than factory beams for the welded sections reinforcing the overal strength as apposed to a single piece.

I have djm beams, 1" drop coils and the flip kit and never had problems
