Default When should the ignition buzzer come on

My battery just died, and I realized the door was left open, but the keys were not in the ignition.

But then I realized the ignition may have been on, without the key. It seems I was able to turn my ignition with just my hand.

So I don't think my buzzer is working. Where is it located?

Under the dash, but if you didn't buy it new, somebody might have yanked it out. Should activate if you open the door with the key in, turn it off with the lights on, or turn it on without buckling your seatbelt

Thanks. What should I look for. I would actually like to keep it.
