Default When driving down the road,,

Whiling driving down the road it will just shut down. Let it set for a while and it will start back up and run for a week or so. Some times it won't Start, But if you keep trying it will finally start. Some times it will miss and then shut down. Has a new fuel pump. 1994 4x4 full size bronco 351 engine. All work was done by ford. They cant fix it they just want to install parts. Thanks for any help.

Yes, ^what he said^, though neither of those will throw a code it's good to eliminate the chances it could be something else. Coil is easy (4 small screws) and cheap, if it's been a while since it was changed it wouldn't hurt to just put a new one in. The PIP, or pickup sensor, in the distributor is a little more labor intensive but is the more likely of the two to be the problem.

EDIT: Another possibility could be a bad ECT, Engine Coolant Temp. sensor-the one for the computer not the sending unit for the dash. Sometimes they go bonkers and send readings like 2000* and the computer will shut down to protect the engine.

Not saying there wasn't codes for them, just that they don't always show up with the problem, guess I could have worded that a little better-sorry.
