What would you do for a full tune-up?
Ok, got a few tanks run through the truck since I first brought it home back in January. I came up with an average of 11 MPG. I'm not happy with this number and want to see it get to 13 MPG. So I'm doing a full bumper-to-bumper tune up. Oil has just been changed. Here's what I'm thinking:
New fluids in both differentials
Fuel filter
Air filter (should I spring for high end?)
New distributor cap and rotor
Hotter coil
New spark plug wires
New spark plugs
New exhaust (shorty headers and true dual)
Any other suggestions? Again, just trying to get 2 more MPG. I'm thinking I can get there with this combo.

no problem and the only other one I can think of is what some one told me and its take your belt off and spin your pulleys and see how much force it takes to spin them you may be surprised what new pulleys and do for mpg as well

Drive like you stole it
Beat the hell out of it and drive like a total maniac, that's what I do and I'm getting around 9 MPG... Oh wait, you want better. Never mind!!!

I may be wrong here but it would seem to me to be a little foolish to "upgrade" to hotter coil and better wires than OE to just put basic copper spark plugs in. Double Platinum or Iridium would be a better use of the wires/coil.
