What is the name of this?

On the transmission on our 95 302 auto, there is a place where a rubber plug belongs, but it fell off a while ago. What is this part called and is it availible new?

I think its just an inspection cover,some torque converters have a drain plug in them and its mainly just a place to get to the plug.As far buying one new im not sure.
