I plan on making a shallower and longer box so it wont be too "in the way".

The box is going to be around 37" long by 14" tall and 14" wide.
I know not the most "ideal" dimensions but it's all I've got to work with.

The nice part is I'm going to make it so the subs won't show.

Here's a rough draft.

Blue dots are cup holders, red are where the ports will be located and orange will be where the subs connect inside the box.

Question Sound system

I have a 1990 F150 reg cab 4x4 with no radio. I would like to put a radio in that will allow me to plug my iPod directly into it. Speakers will also be needed as the driver side speaker is gone, and not sure bout the passenger side. Are there any radios that can handle the bouncing this short bed 4x4 does? I do not want to blow the neighbors away, just want to be able to listen to 'Southern Thunder' n make it sound good. It must be able to be heard over the engine.... My truck is a 302 with dual glass packs and no cats. (we do not have emissions testing in Alabama thankfully) what would ya'll recommend?

i'd go to sonicelectronix.com and pick out a nice $100 kenwood stereo like this one which i will be shortly getting http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...KDC-MP245.html

and get a pair of 6.5 speakers by kenwood or pioneer for under $50, like these http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...KFC-1662S.html

and depending on if you want it or not, you can get a second pair of speakers to put on the rear deck... some kenwood 6x9's always sound good

Bouncing shouldn't be a problem. I think most radios have the CD read ahead thing so it doesn't skip.

I got an alipne head unit, with 2 kenwood tweeters, stock speakers in doors, my truck had no rear speakers...then i got 2 dual 12 in a glass front box, pushed by a dual 300 watt amp, pushing 300 to each sub.
I would rate at a 8 of 10, hits hard and clear, but roof and doors rattle.

Default Rating 11 out of 10

I have:

Eclipse AVN-6620 DVD NAV with 5V preouts to amps. IPOD interface, Sirrius radio, Bluetooth Hands free.

Front amp is a Rockford Fosgate T4004 running at 2 x 200 RMS to two JL Audio Component ZR 525-CSi's 25-150RMS rating 225 peak power.

Rear amp is a Rockford Fosgate P4004 running at 2 x 200 RMS to two JL Audio Component ZR 525-CSi's 25-150RMS rating 225 peak power.

Both amps are set to deliver 21.21 AC volts (= to 115 RMS) using a DMM at 3/4 headunit volume using a 1Khtz tone.

Sub amp is a Rockford Fosgate T1500-1bd running Two JL Audio 10W6V2 subs. Box under the rear seat. I'll try to include picture.

Tuned the sub amp to deliver 30.06 AC volts (= to 650 RMS each sub) using a DMM at 3/4 headunit volume using a 50Htz tone.

System sounds Amazing!! 11 out of 10.....

I have a Sony Xplod deck with direct Ipod plug in, and it has the auxiliary port on the faceplate. 6 1/2 inch Boss component speakers in the doors. Then I have a Kenwood 800 watt 2 channel amp pushing a 12 inch Pioneer shallow mount sub in a slim line sub box. I can put my seat all the way back to the cab for all the leg room in the world Believe it or not, it'll hit any bass note and it'll vibrate all the mirrors to where you can't see out of them. I just wanted a little extra "thump" though. I usually don't crank it up on a daily basis unless I'm jammin down!

Cool My stereo system *New to the forum*

Sup people I'm new to the forum. I got a pretty awesome stereo system in my 1991 Ford F150 XLT Lariat. Door Speakers- Sony Xplod 6.5's
Subwoofers- 2 Rockford Fosgate 8" Punch HE Series & one 12" vr3 Sub
Sub Box- Custom made, awesome quality box made by a good friend of mine. (Duct taped around corners and port holes to make it sealed, sounds better.)
Tweeters- 2 Power Acoustik Nb1
Head Unit- Sony Xplod (older models)

No amp yet, but I would like two Kicker CVT 12's if I'm going to get an amp. The built in EQ of my headunit makes this bass really loud already though, it will rattle the windows and doors.
