Default What Gears?

I drive a 96 f-150 w. the 4.9. i plan on a v8 swap this winter, but i wanna re gear soon. im turning 35's, and idk what gears i have, but they are stock. I was just wondering what ratio would be best, i do have the 5spd w. the OD, i dont drive anywhere where i need to go any faster than 65 or so. im just sick of my truck being a slug. also, what am i looking at spending for front and rear gears? I will be doing the installation...
and maybe someone knows a good place to order from, maybe someone who offers free shipping lol

thanks in advance

To regain the factory performance you need to know the stock gear ratio, then you divide the height of the new tires by the old tires and multiply by the current ratio. If you have 3.55 then 4.10 will be real close to what you currently have with the stock tires.

The reason i ask is because i can get a great deal on some 4.56's out of a project truck that somebody got sick of.. the front and rear axle were pulled out of the truck, and i can get the both of them for fairly cheap.. if 4.10s are close, then how would it like the 4.56's?

do 4.56's, will spin your 35's better. i have ran 4.88's with 35's, 4.56's are ideal for 35's, 4.10 are ideal for 33's

hate to tell you this but all 6cyl trucks are slow and sluggish especially 4 wheel drive ones with big tires.
