Ok, I admit, Im a newbie, but can somebody please tell me what this canister looking thing is??....What does it do and do I need it??...Also, what is the hose coming out if it and where does it go?

Without it the air pump would make a lot of noise.
Might be listed under another name.
It should have a Ford part number on it - maybe look it up from that.
